MacPhail Center for Music has a 100 year history of Music teaching and Performance. Over these 100 plus years it has developed into the premiere community, non-profit music education center in the United States. MacPhail serves over 15,000 students annually and I am please to say that I am one of 245 faculty members dedicated to excellence of instruction and performance We teach all manner of students and have programs that allow a student to progress with rigor should they choose. We also teach lessons to students who like to play hockey!
Becoming a MacPhail student offers distinct advantages from that of my Mounds Park Studio.
Students can apply for financial aid, 60% of MacPhail students receive aid in the form of a 20% to 75% tuition reduction. This application takes place during the summer months in advance of the upcoming school year.
Students can audition for Performance Scholarships which is a substantial award that allows lesson study to be highly discounted (these scholarships are very competitive -that said, I have typically had a student each year for quite some time, earn that scholarship.
MacPhail students are able to register for additional classes and ensembles and get discounted rates because of their current registration for lesson study.
Students are eligible to participate in student recitals and receive free accompaniment for that performance. I encourage this very much!
Students are able to attend masterclasses and concerts at a highly discounted rate, sometimes that discounted rate is free.
Motivated students are able tp audition for Honors Recitals and the annual MacPhail Concerto Concert. If the student is selected these become significant bullet points for high school resume and college application.
A majority of my students will have the opportunity to perform in Antonello Hall, considered to be one of the premiere chamber concert spaces in the Twin Cities.
If you would like to speak further with me about being a MacPhail student, please contact me and leave a phone number with a good time to call and I will do so. Below are some basic links that you can also start with to become a MacPhail student.
